Protecting Constitutional rights and civil liberties

The state has an important role to play in improving our quality of life - but it needs to be kept within constitutional limits. Censorship, surveillance, violations of due process, and the removal of the right to bear arms have no place in a free political system. However, we are increasingly threatened by these things. Large technology companies like Palantir are working with the federal government to implement the largest mass surveillance program in our country’s history. Blatant First Amendment violations have been legitimatized on the basis of protecting the reputation of a foreign government. Masked, unidentifiable agents are detaining people without cause and assaulting citizens who are practicing their right to protest.

Drew will fight to protect the freedom of the American people. He will push for the repeal of the Patriot Act and for new legislation to prohibit all future implementation of illegal surveillance on Americans. In addition to this, he will fight for the passage of the No Political Enemies Act to prevent individuals or organizations from being targeted on the basis of their political speech. He will also advocate for the abolition of ICE and the implementation of a fair, equitable and efficient immigration system.
