Drew’s Story

Born and raised in Indiana, Drew is the son of a dedicated elementary school teacher with 35 years of service and a fourth-generation farmer. In 2012, he was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. After completing his military service, he used the GI Bill to pursue higher education at Indiana University and went on to earn a doctorate in music from the University of Illinois.

Drew became inspired to run for office in 2025 after witnessing the atrocities committed by ICE across the United States. As a lifelong Hoosier, he has seen and lived the challenges that Indiana residents are facing. Inaccessible healthcare, impacts from data centers, and unaffordable cost of living are among the many issues Drew is committed to addressing.

Military Background

Drew first joined the United States Marine Corps in 2008 as a Bandsman, and in 2011 was individually augmented out of the band and sent to Kabul, Afghanistan. During his deployment, Drew conducted over 700 tactical vehicle movements, safely and successfully completed over 80 general/flag officer movements, and ensured the safety of over 2,200 personnel during tactical vehicle movements. Drew was honorably discharged from the USMC in March of 2012, and he utilized the GI bill to pursue higher education at Indiana University. As a veteran, Drew is committed to supporting the wellbeing of our service men and women.

Agricultural upbringing

Drew grew up on his family’s farm in Henry County. In his teens, Drew began to contribute by running the brush hog, field cultivator, chisel plow, V-ripper, and disc harrow. He also hauled grain to market using both hopper wagons and trucks. When Drew returned home from the Marine Corps in 2012, he returned to his family’s farm to help with spring planting season. Drew periodically visits to run the vertical tillage, and always considers it to be a privilege to help on his family’s farm.
